How Famcling Works

How can Famcling help you discover your ancestry, find distant relatives, and connect family members who are spread across different places? You may know your parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, and the relatives in your own branch, but you may not know the complete history of your family or all the branches that have grown from your ancestors. Your cousin may know another branch, while a distant relative may know a branch that you have never heard about. This is where the collective effort of Famcling comes in. A Branch Manager can build and update their branch by adding the family members, relationships, and information they know. Another Branch Manager can do the same for another branch. As these individual branches are added and connected, they gradually become part of a larger, connected Family Tree.

For example, you may build the branch of your family that you know, while your cousin builds their branch. Another relative may build the branch of your grandparent's brother's family. When these branches are connected through their family relationships, the Family Tree continues to grow, generation by generation and branch by branch. A small branch maintained by one person can therefore become part of a much larger family tree through the contributions of other branches. Information that was once known only within one branch can help everyone discover connections beyond their own branch. As the tree grows, you can gradually discover your ancestors, understand how different branches are connected, and find distant relatives you may never have known before.
